Clyde & Crabtree, NC
Project: Assist with recovery efforts in the area and deliver 2.5 tons of donated goods: food, clothing, hygiene products, heaters, air compressor, bedding, blankets, cots, tarps, medical supplies and construction materials.
We would like to thank LogOX, S&S Trailers, Crabtree Ironduff Volunteer Fire Department, Griggsville-Perry High School, Moonshiner Jerry, and numerous others for their support with this deployment.
Four Stewards: Lance & Gayla Risley, and Dylan Nuttle joined Dan Christopher Eaton, a new Steward with our Organization.
Two hundred and ninety two (292) hours of time donated.
Our Stewards spent five (5) days working across multiple projects, outlined below.
Day #1
The crew was blessed to go help an amazing couple who lost hope getting their cattle off the mountain due to the landslide. They worked diligently to make a path to get these momma cows and their calves safely down.
Day #2
In the morning, the team got to meet Kevin and his wife, Teresa, at their home who are currently living above their garage due their home having to be gutted and the foundation is now compromised. The Stewardship was able to buy them a new air compressor to help clean up not only their home but he will be spreading the kindness by helping his neighbors save their personal items.
In the afternoon, our Stewards had the amazing privilege to make Donnie’s living arrangements just a little better. His home was gutted and without power or heat. He was sleeping on just a blanket on his floor. Thanks to Moonshiner Jerry for supplying the cots, generator, buddy heater, cook top, and food.
Our Stewards finished their day by helping Brenda to replenish her firewood to get her through the winter.
The team assisted Brooke with putting a tarp across the peak of her roof that was leaking, cleaned up some trees that had fallen in her yard, and cleared up the creek behind her home so it would flow smoothly.
Day #3
Day #4
Our Stewards helped Ms. Toni clear some huge trees from what once was her pasture and now resembles more of washout, assembled a shelter for her horses, and made a great start to the firewood bank that will be housed at the Crabtree Ironduff Volunteer Firehouse.
Day #5
Our team went back and worked on adding more firewood to Brenda’s supply for the winter.
Then spent the afternoon helping Ryan and Jennifer Gurski reseeded their damaged horse pastures from the washout that occurred with Hurricane Helene.
